Compound's Corporate Division Earns First Standard & Poor's Credit Rating in DeFi

Standard & Poor's Global Ratings has mixed reviews of decentralized finance (DeFi) platform Compound's institutional products.

Compound Treasury, a product of Compound Prime LLC, received a B- credit rating, indicating that the USDC-driven revenue platform is "speculative" but "currently has the ability to meet financial commitments."

"Compound Prime's outlook is stable," Standard & Poor's said in a statement.

Despite the low ratings, Compound first announced a rating of DeFi, which appears to be the first time a major credit rating agency has rated an "agency DeFi" instrument.
